Self-reflective accounts on significant life experiences

When I was in class 10th I passed through a very difficult situations in my life , my family and

I got break inside  because of my brother‘s dead .he was died from blood cancer. He died at

age of 11 yrs. his unexpected death gave many painful memories and create such hazardous

situation in our family. My mom suffers a lot , I had only one brother whom I had lost and

she had one son whom she had lost. First time in ma life I had seen someone had died and oh

god I had seen my bro s death. I was frightened, breathless and feel like there is no blood runs

in my nerves and   the fear of losing him and his absence makes me feel like m dying and

there is no way of hope who give the reason to survive in the  world. The peoples were

around me was like nobody, I was blaming god for his death and asking questions to god

again n again y he did that? why he had chosen my bro to get back from earth  instead of me

? y he made such situations and was cried.  mom n dad were also crying, my bro was very

honest , sweet and  humble. He was the one whom I love d most. He loves all of us. even I

fought with him but he never. He was my elder brother still he cares me protects me as such

as  older brother . I always miss him now he was no more. I request god when I would get

chance to meet god that please give back my brother to next birth.  why god do such wrong

with us why he called back the honest and good, lovable peoples to him? why he was not

cared about my and ma mom n my family s feelings ? My mom trust on god blindly. she

never ever thought that god may give her such  sorrow or painful life.  my grand-father n

mother were alive but the eldest son of the family had died. It was unbelievable, but it was

said no one can win against the decision of god. We all have to accept the god’s will but I get

a lesson of life. I know that god is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient. God is everywhere,

without god our life is not exist in this world. We all know that god is the creator, developer

and destroyer of the world and he can do anything, but sometimes we are not agree to accept

the god s will. it was said that if god closes one door then he will open the second door as

well. 6 years later god gave a surprise to us. Now I have my little brother he is 4 years old,

now in mine age and his age there are too much gap but a bonding of brother-sister also

present. He makes me feel proud, and my bro get back to me whom I had lost, I consider

myself lucky to have him, finally god send him as a new baby to us. He proved that a true

soul can win the god’s heart as my mom worshiped god too much and god finally blessed her

to give the unexpected happy to her life and mine also. We are again complete as a family as

we were. A brother sister relation is the sweet and innocent relation among all relations. A

sister and brother’s bonding is the strongest bonding. I love my brother so much. I can’t leave

without him. He is the most precious gift for me from god. Now I care for him so much. As I

got it from miles of difficulties but finally god makes us happy. My mom said that always do

good to others and  help others and respect others because  at end of the life money  body not

go with us only the good works and blessing are remained with us. So I got that if we truly

follow the path of truth and if  our soul is good enough then nothing is impossible to get. If u

faith in god and believe on god from the bottom of your heart god will listen you and helps

you and also shows  the right path to achieve the goal of life.

I remember one more experience of life that give me a lesson of mankind, humanity and

much more to exist in the world.

I was not sure whether I was in the planet earth or some in the underworld or somewhere

struck in Chaos. But I was sure that I was alive. Live healthy as an apple. The world around

me was extraordinary busy and sometimes pretend to be very conservative. I recall one day

when I stood aside my classroom, beside my table, near the window. I heard numerable

indistinguishable voices that weren’t faint. About half a second passed and I heard somebody

calling me and I turned away to see who it was. But still the world seemed to be as busy as it

used and I wasn’t even a matter-of-fact.

Again a second ticked, I heard the same voice calling and then did I discover that it wasn’t

from my class, but from my window. There stood a lady, almost to be a senior citizen about

fifty to sixty years old, seeing me through my brown-shaded iris. She was a lady working in

the labour department, who maintain the school and keep it clean. But to my surprise there

wasn’t a single student who had noticed this poor old lady.

I do not to make her wait, I quickly held out my hand and without saying a word, I got the

bottle and benevolently told her that I would fetch her water as soon as possible. And the

gratitude I received in return was priceless. The contentment her happiness gave was

indescribable .And with all my might, I fetched water with a happy heart and gave her the

bottle. She told a ‘thanks’ with a broad smile on her face. I told her that I am there for her

always to help and she could approach me if she wants a hand. Then, with the everlasting

smile she turned back to work. Little did I realize that there were thousands of such men and

women working in our school we didn’t care to see and they were so lovable that they could

make a heaven out of a hell? Aren’t we mature enough to see what’s happening around us? I

guess not. We are all so blinded and self-obsessed to even look around to what’s happening.

With my anticipation I expect one-out-of-the-thousand’s heart is so-what-I-really-meant.

And what I mean is let it me the most poorest or the diseased or the richest or healthiest,

make sure you respect whose around you and what in return you get might be valued more

than the Kohinoor diamond!  She blessed me and I feel very good.

The peoples are selfish and mean. They do not think about others feelings but we should

learn to do good others. we have to know the truth of life and it will  lead to the self-

realisation . the tests of life are its plus factors. The plus factor is sometimes more readily

seen by the simple minded. We should not embarrass the disabled. On the other hand, we

should not be considerate and sympathetic to them. We should develop a fresh perspective

towards life. we do so, we can see the beauty of the universe in the midst of pains and

sufferings. The spring of hope makes recovery possible. It brings peace in the midst of pain

and  distress. The forces of destruction are psychological. Life force regenerates hope and

joy. Destructive elements destroy others and themselves. Forget gloom and doom and seek

out positivity and happiness. life is too short and there is not enough time to do all the things

we want to. We tend to compare with others and get upset when they seem to be doing well-

dismissing their achievement as pure luck or think that they have support, help, approach that

god is being too kind to them and not to us. And so we give up. Only if we are willing to

spend time, put in painstaking effort and have faith, can we get results. If we don’t accept this

difficult but true fact of life, our lives will be far from being happy and fulfilling. We should

develop a fresh perspective towards life. If we do so ,we can see the beauty of the universe in

the midst of pains and sufferings .the spring of hope makes recovery possible. It brings peace

in the midst of pain and distress. Life force regenerates hope and joy.

Observation of life situation that evoke questions and responses

Observation basically refers to a process of watching someone or something observation is an

informal and action but it can also be formal and involve data collection our mind observes

situation and the very moment we relate ourselves with it in various ways.   For example  a

principal watching  a teacher  give a lesson to her class  in order to judge a lesson  to her class

in order  to judge her effectiveness as  an educator at each and every step of the day we

observe things and figure it our differently a glass  half filled with water is the best example

of life situation and observations  because  for few  people it is a glass  which  is half empty

but for others  it may be a glass  half- filled  j8  basically our observations and the way we

take things in life reflects our accuracy towards things and real imaging. to understand a

person or analyse a situation we have to  consider  it from different point of views, people

change situation by how they act and what  they do in these situations. We often walk  across

an empty land and know the pathway like the back of our hand. We feel the earth beneath

our feet and sit by the river  which makes us complete but still we cannot get the  simple

thing in our life at that time the only question which we have in mind is that” where the

simplicity has gone.” Sometime ,we came across a fallen tree but people take it as just a

wooden log on the ground but I feel that the branches of the tree are looking at me and then I

think that is this place we feel dreaming of. All this makes me feel old and I need something

to rely on. We have mindful  that love is strong and powerful, it is patient  and kind.  Love

takes on pleasure in other people sins but delights  in truth. But have we ever a thought, how

strong is love./ however, love is not strong enough to stop your mother from dying and it can

give you the dead you never really  had, basically,  everybody has his/her  own way of

serving the difficult phrase  of life. Therefore as long as we faith in our own cause  and an

unconquerable  will  to win victory will not be denied us, our well-arranged time  is the surest

marks of a well arranged mind  thus, no matter  how differently  and  imaginatively we

assume  things  in life at the end of the day everything in the  books of god. God grants  us

the serenity  to accept the things we cannot change  courage  to change the things we can and

wisdom to know the difference,  hence, most people live-whether  physically  intellectually

or morally  in a very restricted circle  of their potential  being, we all have reservoirs  of life

to draw  upon of which we do not dream,

what does the word ‘nation’ mean ? To what extent are speakers and writers justified in

talking of a nation as a person? In what sense can a nation be described as having a will or

national interest? Are these interests and will, the interest and will of the entire population? Is

it not only advisable but also essential to think in terms of all the details so that meaningful

progress is promoted, thus making democracy thrive better?

In  the   democratic countries  intelligence  is  still  free  to ask  whatever  question it chooses

this freedom it is almost  certain, will not survive another war. Educationists should therefore,

do all they  can while there is yet time to build up in the minds of their charges a  habit of

resistance to suggestion if such resistance is not built up the men and women of the next

generation will be at the  mercy of that skilful propagandist who contrives to seize the

instruments of information and persuasion resistance to  suggestion can be built up in two

depend on incessant stimulation to rely on their own internal resources and not to depend on

incessant stimulation from without this is doubly important reliance on external stimulation is

bad for the character moreover such stimulation is the stuff with which propagandists bait

their books the jam in which dictators counsel their ideological pills an individual who relies

on external stimulation thereby exposes himself to the full force of whatever propaganda is

being made in his neighbourhood for a majority of people in the west purposeless reading

purposeless listening to radios purposeless looking at films have become   addiction

psychological     equivalents of  alcoholism and morphinism , things  have  come  to  such a

pitch that there  are many millions of men and women who suffer real distress  if they  are cut

off   for a few days or  even a few hours from newspapers radio and music or movie pictures

like an addict to a drug they have to indulge  their vice not  because their painful subnormal

and  incomplete. Even by intelligent people, it is now taken for granted that such

psychological addictions are inevitable and even desirable, that there is nothing to be alarmed

at in the fact that the majority of civilized men and women are now incapable of living on

their own spiritual resources, but have become exactly dependent on incessant stimulation

from without. How can children be taught to rely upon their own spiritual resources and resist

the temptation to become how to entertain themselves, by playing musical , by purposeful

study, by scientific observation and by the practice of some we art and so on. But each

education of the hand and the intellect is not enough. Psychological has  its Gresham’s law, it

is that bad money that derives out the good. Most people tend toper form the actions that

require least efforts, to think the thought that are easiest to fill, the emotions that are most

vulgarly commonplace, to give rein to the desires that are most nearly animal. And they will

tend to do this even if they possess the knowledge and skill to do otherwise. Along with the

necessary knowledge and skill must be given the will to use them even under the pressure of

incessant temptation to take the line of least resistance and become an addict to psychological

drugs. Most people will not wish to resist these temptations unless they have a coherent

philosophy of life, which makes it reasonable to suggestion is purely intellectual and consists

in training young people to subject the diverse devices of the propagandists to critical

analysis. The first thing that educators must do is to analyse the words currently used in

newspapers on platforms by preachers and broadcasters. Their critical analysis and

constructive criticism should reach out to the children and the youth with such clarity that

they learn to react to forceful suggestions the right way at the right time.

What are the causes for the malnutrition od children ?

Over the last  fifty  years millions of rupee have  undoubtedly been  spent on child care in this

country yet it is not sub Saharan Africa that is the home of the malnutrition child but India

where according to UNICEF statistics 53 % of all children are malnourished.  the  reasons for

malnutrition among Indian children are not far to seek it is a multi -sectorial ,multi- level

problem that involves not just the  availability but also adequate mother and child care in

terms of easy access to health facilities  safe drinking water environmental sanitation and of

course literacy  neither the setting  up of  the national nutrition council in 1994; under the

chairman ship of the prime minister  nor  the integrated child development scheme  launched

in 1975, to promote  the holistic  development of the child  under six years of age have made

any visible or promote the holistic development  in the sordid situation unfortunately  the

purpose of strengthening the capacities  of the community and of those who care  has failed

to deliver the goods because the schemes envisaged have had only marginal impact in the

area of nutrition where it is most wanting  and woeful  on paper we  have plenty of policies

and programmes  but as far as performance is concerned  we have  earned  enough notoriety

the need of the hour is to translate  them into deeds  and results  what  we  have tried to sell in

the form of promises  and populist pronouncements  the most urgent  areas  of attention  and

immediate  action are nutrition and immediate action are nutrition health  and education of

children  whose  well-being  reflects the health  of  the society  and caring  outlook  of the

polity  since  the causes  of malnutrition  of children  are many  like  exploding  population

bias  against  the female  child  weak and suffering  mothers  the  remedy calls  for care of the

mother  and care by the mother besides  an effective  control  over  population explosion

ignorance   on what food   should   be taken is  another  contributory  factor  that  results  in

malnutrition  among  and  under nourishment   of  children  requires   planning  co-ordination

and  monitoring  by high powered   bodies  right  down  to the village  level.

Questions on education that I am facing

Why now a days education based on bookish knowledge and vocational knowledge , do not promoting the composite national culture ??

So far I have been good in my studies but had to face many problems time to time as

well. Specially during secondary education. as i was in a government school so teachers

usually didn't take stress over our problems. We were like a cramming parrot. Were just

aimed at passing the standard. Knowledge was far away but when really knew about it

then I tried to be an anti guru n started heading for the real knowledge. Never guided

by anyone for the best selection of books whatever got just went for it.Even in higher

education no attention was there for us by the teachers. schools were so nominally.

However had not to look back so kept going well facing all this.on  Reaching graduation

level have become like water. But Here at this level too I faced the real challenge of

reservation as belong to general category.

Educationists face two main problems.

There are multiple  faiths and languages in India. Reading, writing and counting is not

the only atom of education. It's primary aim is to mold personalities. Students profess

different religious and faiths. Only physical and intellectual education will not do.

Spiritual needs of students have to be satisfied. Mutual respect , understanding and

cooperation among different communities must be promoted. Students should be

trained to speak more languages and respect different religious. Impositions will be

futile. No single way of life or worship should be promoted. The need of the hour is to

evolve a national composite culture.r

There are two problems whisecularreat worry to uor educationists the problem of

religious and moral instruction in a land of love one another to be kind and helpful to

allot be tender to the lower animals and to observe and think right the tasr of teaching

them how to read and write and to count and calculate is important but it should not

make us lose sight ofw     the primary aim of moulding personality in the right way for

this it is necessary to call into aid culture tradition and religion but in our company we

have in the same school of look after boy's aid girls born in different faiths and

belonging to families that live diverse ways  of life  and follow different form s of

worship associated with different denominations of religion it will not to trend the easy

path of everything the difficulty by attending solidly to physical culture and intellectual

education we have to evading different faiths we should thereby promote an

atmosphere of mutual respect, a fuller understanding and helpful co-operation among

the different communities in our society. Again we must remain one people and we

have therefore to give basic training in our schools  to speak and understand more

languages than one and to appreciate and respect the different religious prevailing in

India. It is not right for us in India to be dissuaded from this by considerations as to

overtaking the young mind. What is necessary must be done. And is not in fact too

great a burden. Any attempt to do away with or steamroll the differences through

governmental coercion and indirect pressure would be as futile as it would be unwise.

Any imposition of a single w way of life and form of worship on all children or neglect

of a section of the pupils in this respect or barren secularization will lead to conflict

between school and home life which is harmful. On the other hand if we give  side

recognition to the different prevailing faiths in the educational institutions by

organizing suitable facilities for religious teaching for boys and gals of communities

this may itself  serve as a broadening influence of great national values.

Curriculum changed in direction of achievement for students . why ??

Vijaya murthy has done it  this time a big she has has the headlines with an award from

the national council for educational research and training (N.C.E.R.T) for her innovative

techniques to improve the personalities of teachers. It all began in 1981, when vijaya

took over as director of the S.I.E.S institute of pre primary education. She noticed that

in spite of scoring well in theory , most of the trainee teachers were nowhere when it

came to classroom teaching. She remembers how she talked to them in the class. "You

will be teaching two to eight year olds. Their attention span is very short. Tho keep alive

their interest in the topic or the subject you must let your speech and action speak

aloud. Be active in class and dance and play with children". however much to her

chagrin many of them did not listen to her. ", there was this woman singing." Twinkle

twinkle little star and at up above the world so high, her hands hardly went above her

ears.

Another teacher was so shy that she perspired profusely in class. Teachers should

developed innovative workshops designed to help them. As the students take part in

debates, singing dancing, plays and other activities, they interact and their personalities

begin to unfold. The teachers too learn more about the students and after completion

of the course, the individuals emerge as superior human beings. some teachers while

teaching lose temper and short art their children. After the workshop on sensitivity , I

have become sensitive to the needs of the children and have grown more tolerant.

some teachers who are  shy in nature, can now speak to strangers without hesitation

because of workshops ,some teachers after very emotional often used to break down

in tears. Now she is confident enough to run her own nursery school. Many innovative

ideas were discussed in schools regarding N.C.E.R.T syllabus.

More than the physical weight of the school bag, educators are worried by "the load of

non-comprehension." The report had found that "a lot is taught , but little is learnt or

understood. This is because the curriculum is heavy, the syllabus wide, textbooks

densely packed with facts and generally written in convoluted adult language that

hampers communication. Besides, teachers rush though tropics at a whirlwind pace as

the aim of education today has crassly become merely to "cover" the course. Studies

on children's mind have revealed that it takes time for recognition to occur in all that

the child best understands and enjoys learning at its own terms. As children fail to

comprehend concepts presented too fast and in topic after topic, they end up by

memorising information which after reproduced parrot like in examinations. Thus

learning is far from being a joyful experience. The important thing in children's

education ought to be concept formation and growth of capacity for theory building,

rather than possession of vast amounts of information. But understanding is confused

with acquisition of facts " and information with knowledge. So great is the neglect of

understanding in education today that a child can pass any examination without having

to understand a phenomenon but simply by cramming facts. Middle school geography

for instance covers the world's continents in such great detail ( land, mineral, human

and natural resources, vegetation, trade, physical features etc) that specialists

would take at least a year to comfortably study perhaps just one third of the course.

But school children must study all this at a breathless pace in just a couple of periods.

A grade system would allowed by the teachers to mark the skills of the students.

Teacher sometimes do not explain the big words. Mathematics, history, science,

languages-all subjects are taught with such speed that lessons on which at least two

months should be spent are completed within two days. It four experiments are

essential for comprehension, just one is hurriedly done. In grammar too lessons are

orally explained and the children after immediately tested, marked and graded. The

important thing in children's education ought to be concept formation and growth of

capacity for theory building., rather than possession of vast amounts of information.

But understanding is confused with acquisition of facts and information with

knowledge. Curriculum should reviewing the syllabus and textbook for all schools for

deciding the minimum number of topics that need to be taught, the minimum number

of concepts to newer introduced within the topic and the total time needed  for

teaching  this minimum number of concepts comfortably. It also stressed the need for

experimentation's and for linking topics to activities to be performed by pupils and

teachers.however, activity based education that makes learning a not needs more time

allotment peer topic. This means the syllabus must be slashed and more room made

for discussion, experimentation's, questioning and finding solutions in class exercises,

rather than asking children to mug up lessons at home. This means children should be

allowed to stay with a topic for a much longer time for better understanding of

problems and phenomena.

Recent studies have indicated that there brain develops in an interesting environment

,not when bored.but children today spend ten to eleven hours studying and have little

time for anything else. A total change in our approach to education and redefining the

aim. This means according importance to "understanding" and devaluing the

importance of marks. If this is not made the priority and focus for education, no

committee will be able to reduce the school load. The first step in this direction would

be tho review the existing textbooks and see how they can be made reader friendly and

concept based.
